Microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy, is a minimally invasive skin treatment that uses tiny, sterile needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin’s surface. These micro-injuries stimulate your body’s natural wound-healing process, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin—two key proteins that keep your skin firm, smooth, and youthful.

Microneedling can be performed on multiple areas of the body, but it’s most commonly done on the face, including:
Your provider will assess your skin and recommend the most appropriate microneedling treatment areas during your in-person consultation.
Microneedling treats acne scars, stretch marks, fine lines, loose skin, large pores, uneven tone, sun damage, and pigmentation by boosting collagen and improving skin texture and firmness.
Most patients experience little to no discomfort during the procedure. A topical numbing cream is applied beforehand to ensure comfort. You may feel a mild prickling or tingling sensation during treatment.
Avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and waxing the treatment area for at least 5 days prior. Also, avoid alcohol and NSAIDs (like ibuprofen) 24 hours before treatment, as they can increase bleeding or bruising.
Downtime is minimal. Expect redness, mild swelling, and a sensation similar to a sunburn for 24–72 hours. Light flaking or dryness may occur as the skin heals.
Initial results can be seen within a few days, with continued improvement over several weeks as collagen production increases. Best results are typically achieved after a series of 3–6 treatments.
Treatments are typically spaced 4–6 weeks apart. Your provider will recommend a customized plan based on your skin concerns and goals.
